The PRAETORIAN® Guarding System is an innovative tool to effectively protect bacterial cell lines, industrially used fungi, yeasts, higher eukaryotic cell lines and plant lines against illegal copying and unauthorized use.
The PRAETORIAN® Guarding System is a technical security system ensuring that the living material, once it leaves production, will only be able to divide for a certain number of cycles and will die once it has reached those number of reproduction cycles. The PRAETORIAN® Guarding System is provided as an external signal to the cells/cell lines/plant lines.
Features of the PRAETORIAN® Guarding System
- Microbes, cells and cell lines can only divide, and plant lines can replicate for a limited number of times or cycles.
- The DNA repair mechanisms and DNA replication processes are compromised by the PRAETORIAN® Guarding System.
- The PRAETORIAN® Guarding System does not interfere with the production process itself; the cells die only after production.
- This mechanism prevents unauthorized copying and illicit use of proprietary cells and cell lines.
